EXPERIENCE

Web Developer

August 2006 – Present

Wells Fargo - San Francisco, CA

·       Developed, Maintained and supported two high availability, mission critical, shared web service applications running on webMethods/SunOS platform.  Applications include a shared file upload service on the enterprise CEO portal and a faceless XML/SOAP based messaging bus, which combined in total interface with some 23 disparate backend system application partners.  Both applications run on shared infrastructure (firewalls, routers, switches, servers, F5 devices) and utilize a secure architecture (DMZ, reverse proxy/invocation to trusted internal LAN).  Future plans include consolidating & virtualizing all 5 lower environments on VMW clusters.

·       Development projects ranged from small enhancements and utilities to implementing major core business logic functionality changes/additions, new integrations.

·       Eliminated all existing single points of failure (mostly by implementing automatic failover/geographic load balancing via F5 3DNS/GTM and LTM devices).

·       Made architecture level design decisions for applications including hardware and technology upgrades (i.e. Oracle RAC, Server Upgrades, Solaris 10, VMW, etc...)

·       Coordinated work orders, change management requests and directed IT resources to deploy updated code packages, SSL certificates, upgraded software components. Used best practices methodologies such as QA load testing and functionality testing throughout five environments from DEV to PROD.

·       Managed Production Support teams that provide 24x7x365 support, authored standards based wiki system overview documentation and training material for multi-tiered on/off-shore follow-the-sun support approach.  Utilized Mercury Availability Monitor and OVO/netcool alarming for email alerts/paging alerts for SOC.

·       Orchestrated weekly project management meetings with development, business, and management and Quality Assurance teams.  Maintained team SharePoint Portal Site for work queues, development plans, wikis, shared documents, meeting minutes, application volume metrics, build release notes, production events and issues.

·       Ran custom reports for business and extensively redesigned and modified existing scheduled reporting packages to run much more quickly and efficiently.

Systems Developer

February 2005 – August 2006

Casino Arizona - Scottsdale, AZ

·       Analyzed user and/or business requirements, procedures and problems, synthesizing complex and/or diverse information, to create new, or improve existing, computer system applications, generating creative solutions that automate information processing and support business decisions.

·       Created entity relationship diagrams, relational database models, functional system specifications, use cases, data flow diagrams, process flows, user interface prototypes, report prototypes and other system applications consistent with established standards and application design practices.

·       Used system design tools to prototype and construct flexible, secure and reliable relational databases consistent with best practice database design practices.

·       Analyzed, designed and constructed all necessary integration between systems.

·       Managed multiple application design projects and project teams within established department methodology, procedures and guidelines.

·       Acted as a liaison between IT and user departments, managing application projects and proactively communicating with user departments.  Managed difficult customer situations, resolving customer issues in a timely, efficient and effective manner.

·       Performed diagnostic testing, utilizing standard QA methodologies, to isolate faults in system components and provided supporting documentation on results.

·       Developed and maintained comprehensive documentation for all applications that were developed; including internal coding documentation, external system documentation and change management documentation.

·       Developed technical expertise in database design and software development using the established business standards.

Automation Analyst

March 2004 – February 2005

Edward Jones - Tempe, AZ

·       Monitor all computer system operations and processing (Hitachi and IBM mainframes, Digital VAX, Sun, Windows/NT and IBM RS6000).

·       Monitor vendor facilities via mainframe/MQ and Connect/Direct ensuring deadlines for sending/receiving data are met.

·       Troubleshoot processing issues and provide immediate/temporary relief to issues, perform and coordinate resolutions to hardware/software issues.

·       Identify and implement OPS automation rules to improve identification and service relief.

·       Work with problem/change management services to support activities or report status.  Perform product testing functions for the Technical Services group.

·       Provide daily status reporting information to the Information Systems Department regarding previous processing cycle activities.
